Our Composite Hoses
Dantec's vast experience in providing high quality hose and related equipment to a wide range of industries, has enabled us to design and manufacture composite hose to suit virtually any application.
Major companies worldwide, involved in the production and transfer of chemicals, oil and gas, now rely on Dantec for their critical applications.
All composite hose assemblies from Dantec are tested to ensure electrical continuity, and are approved to all the relevant British, European and International standards

Chemical Hoses
- PP Hoses
Polypropylene (PP) lined hose is the most popular in our range. It is our general purpose chemical hose. The lining and sealing films are polypropylene, which has a very wide chemical resistance and is therefore suitable for transfer of most chemicals. Our most commonly used general purpose hose has a polyproplylene covered inner wire and galvanised steel outer wire (Danchem PG) , but can also be manufactured with stainless steel inner and galvanised steel outer wires, (Danchem SG), or with stainless steel wires inside and out (Danchem SS).
For those chemicals where polypropylene is not suitable, Dantec manufacture hoses with ECTFE or Nylon lining.
- ECTFE Hoses
ECTFE is predominantly used for more aggressive chemicals, and is supplied with inner wire of either stainless steel (Danflon SG) or galvanised steel (Danflon GG), and also stainless steel outer wire if required (Danflon SS). Also available, are versions of this hose to take high temperatures of up to 160°. These are depicted by the suffix A ie: Danflon GGA, Danflon SGA etc.
- Nylon Hoses
Nylon lined hose is an economical alternative to ECTFE as a lining in hose for use with Biofuels and high aromatic solvents such as benzene and toluene. It can be manufactured with an inner wire of Aluminium (Danoil 9 AG), nylon covered mild steel (Danoil 9 NG), or stainless steel (Danoil 9 SG), depending on the weight and application of the hose required. Outer wires can be, as usual, of galvanised mild steel, or stainless steel (Danoil 9 SS).
- Superflex Hoses
Superflex hose is the premier hose in our range. It is manufactured with an ECTFE lining and with internal and external wires of Stainless steel. It is an extremely robust hose for the most arduous applications in Oil or Chemical transfer; and in applications where long unsupported lengths or low pressure steam cleaning results in a short working life for standard hoses.

Oil Hoses
- Petroleum and Vegetable Hoses
DanOil hoses have a polypropylene lining and polypropylene fabrics and films, except where the oil is of high aromatic content and then a nylon lining may be required.
The wires can be of aluminium (Danoil 7 AL), or galvanised carbon steel (Danoil 7), according to the application of the hose.
- Biofuel Hoses
Biofuel hoses are manufactured with a nylon lining and with an aluminium (Danoil 9 AG), nylon covered (Danoil 9 NG), stainless steel inner wire Danoil 9 SG, or of course both stainless steel wires (Danoil 9 SS).

It is an extremely robust hose for the most arduous applications in Oil or Chemical transfer; and in applications where long unsupported lengths or low pressure steam cleaning results in a short working life for standard hoses.

Vapour Recovery Hoses
Vapour recovery hose is a light weight hose, mainly used up to 7bar which can be used for a wide selection of vapours, some of which can be aggressive. Therefore this hose is manufactured mostly with a pp lining, but with the inner wire option of galvanised mild steel (Danoil VR), pp covered wire (Danchem PG VR) or stainless steel (Danchem SS VR).

Cryogenic Hoses
Danchem PA Cryogenic hose is manufactured with low temperature thermoplastic fabrics and films, and stainless steel inner and outer wires. It is used to convey products such as LPG and Liquid Ethylene, Ammonia, or Carbon Dioxide.

Firesafe Hoses
Firesafe Hose is a Dantec composite hose with high fire resistance and is constructed from materials which guarantee that the hose will not fail catastrophically in the event of a fire, thus allowing fire services to control the fire without pressure build up in the hose, avoiding an explosive release of flammable product. This hose is of great value where spontaneous combustion may be a possibility, in areas of extreme external heat or, where operations are near to residential areas. It is available for most applications, except Cryogenic. This is the hose used to refuel Formula 1 racing cars.

Quality System
Dantec composite hose products meet all major national and international standards, and have International Maritime Organisation approvals for transfer of hazardous chemicals and liquefied gases. All marine hoses meet the requirements of the United States Coastguard. Dantec were the first manufacturer to achieve ISO9002/BS5750 status, and have been registered with the British Standards Institute since 1988 (Reg. No. Q5773).

Environmental Policy
Dantec are committed to the protection of the environment by every means commercially practicable, and the Company therefore pursue a policy aimed at minimising environmental damage and maximising opportunities for environmental enhancement.
Dantec directors are responsible for the implementation of the policy and for ensuring that staff are aware of the environmental implications of their activities within their own areas or responsibility.

Hose Inspection and Testing
As manufacturers and testers of petrochemical transfer hose for over 30 years, Dantec offer a professional Hose inspection, Repair and Certification Service. (HIRCS) for all types of hose, including composite and LPG flexible rubber hose.
The Dantec HIRCS is a management system for hoses. It ensures that inspection and test requirements are not overlooked.
Dantec will monitor and manage a database independently on your behalf and remind you
that hoses are due for inspection and re-test, thus enabling you to concentrate on your core business instead of allocating precious manpower to ensure hoses conform to current legislation.
Dantec conduct an initial audit of all hoses in service and storage, to create a computerised log of all hoses to be checked. At a later date convenient to the customer, Dantec return to check, pressure test and certificate all the hoses in accordance with relevant industry codes of practice.

Handling Large Bore Hoses
- Do not lift hose assemblies from a single rope with the ends hanging down.
- Support hose assemblies with two band slings, hose buns, saddles or bridles.
- Do not use slings such as chains or ropes that may cause chafing of the hose cover.
- Do not drag hose assemblies over docks or decks; carry them on trolleys or rollers, or use derricks.
- Do not allow hose assemblies to be twisted or kinked
- Do not lift or suspend hoses from their flanges or end fittings.
Once the hose, or group of hoses is on site and ready to install, the normal connection procedure is as follows:
- Firstly, connect the first hose (or first end of hose) to the static pipework on the jetty, installing a new gasket.
- Bolt flanges together, using your site management recommendations.
- This first hose (or first end) may require support near the flange to enable easy, stress free connection.
- Use the same procedure to connect additional hoses.
- Ensure this area is traffic free during this operation!
- The final hose (or second end) will be the one being connected to the ship's manifold. This hose should be lifted via a crane, or other lifting device, with support near the flange end, using a cradle, web sling or hose bun.
NB Do not lift this hose by the flange!
- To ensure good hose life, do not exceed the hose maximum bend radius during this operation (as listed in the Dantec Technical Brochure).
- Disconnection of the hoses should be performed in reverse.
